With simple controls - cursors for movement, Z and X for shooting and jumping 8-Bit Commando looks like it should be a breeze. But you soon learn that the one-shot-kill, no saves and various traps mean that survival requires the utmost care and accuracy!
If 8-Bit Commando's brutal difficulty sounds off-putting, then it's simply not the game for you. It's been designed to emulate the challenge of early games, which is something it achieves.
